Shane Sullivan

Shane Sullivan is an accurate long snapper with a repeatable delivery and a good understanding of what happens after the snap. His punt snaps consistently arrive on target with a tight spiral, and his accuracy is one of the more dependable parts of his game. Sullivan does a good job of keeping the football clean through his release and giving the punter a catchable ball, allowing the operation to stay on schedule. We also like his transition from snapper to blocker. Sullivan does a nice job of popping up immediately after his release, getting his eyes up and putting himself in position to engage in protection. That ability to quickly transition into his blocking responsibilities adds value beyond simply delivering an accurate snap. At 6'0", 185 pounds, Sullivan is currently on the lighter side compared with the prototype collegiate long snapper. However, his technical foundation gives him something worthwhile to build around. Adding functional mass and lower-body strength should help him become more powerful through his snap while also improving his ability to hold up against bigger rushers in protection. KT Recruiting Evaluation There is a solid foundation in place with Shane Sullivan. Accuracy, rotation, and consistency are difficult traits to replace at the long snapper position, and Sullivan already demonstrates all three. We especially like that his job doesn't end once the football leaves his hands—his ability to quickly recover and work into his block shows good awareness of the complete position. The next step is physical development. We are looking forward to seeing how Sullivan's frame changes over the offseason as he adds strength and quality weight heading into his senior year. If he can maintain his accuracy and clean mechanics while becoming a bigger, stronger athlete, Sullivan has an opportunity to significantly improve his college projection over the next year. The snapping ability is there; now it's about continuing to build the body around it.
