William Bowers

William Bowers possesses one of the strongest legs in the 2027 class and has all the physical tools to compete at a high level from the moment he steps onto a college campus. A polished ball striker, Bowers consistently produces a clean football with outstanding lift and excellent rotation. He has demonstrated 60-63-yard field goal range in calm conditions, showcasing the ability to drive the football with effortless power while maintaining consistent mechanics and ball flight. His kickoff ability is equally impressive. Bowers has recorded kickoffs traveling 75-plus yards with 4.0+ seconds of hang time, combining elite distance with the height needed to allow coverage units to get downfield. His ability to generate both power and hang time makes him a weapon in the field position battle. Perhaps the most underrated part of Bowers’ game is his preparation. Despite being from Tennessee, he regularly trains in adverse weather—including rain, wind, and snow—to prepare for the environments he’ll encounter at Iowa State. That willingness to embrace uncomfortable conditions speaks volumes about his work ethic and competitive mindset. Bowers has the leg talent, technical consistency, and maturity to develop into an outstanding Big 12 specialist, and we believe his preparation will allow him to compete much earlier than most freshmen.
